French comic and director Alex Lutz portrays a pop singer from the 1960s in this hilarious mockumentary for which he won best actor César last year (the 2020 Césars are on the evening before this screening). Lutz, who also directs, plays a seventy-something pop star who has seen better days but refuses to leave the stage. It’s a good-humoured tour de force and an audience pleaser , which closed the Critics’ Week section at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. The excellent makeup turns him into a man in his 70s (as well as a young singer in his 20s crooning duets with Marina Hands and Elodie Bouchez).
