unDependence Film Festival Edinburgh

Summerhall - Red Lecture Theatre

The unDependence Film Festival has been showing Scottish and international short films that ask questions about relationships between individuals and society for 5 years in a row. The Festival is going to celebrate its 5th anniversary's Closing Night with 2 screening programmes and a presenation at Summerhall's Red Lecture Theatre.

The night will kick off with a screening of short films "The Edges of the Family Album" showing international short films on family stories that would not likely produce a snapshot for the photo album...

We will also screen the result of the Dockma 48-hr film challenge followed by the grand-finale: the internationally acclaimed and multi-award winning feaure documentary COMPLICIT by Lynn Zhang&Heather White. A film shot below the radar for three years in China in the midst of an unprecedented human rights crackdown, the film is a character-driven, inspiring tale of young activists facing huge odds in their effort to reform China's toxic smartphone factories.
