A Fortunate Man

Summerhall Festival - Demonstration Room

Fifty years ago, writer John Berger and photographer Jean Mohr followed the working life of a country doctor, for a book that went on to be one of the most influential ever written on healthcare. Today, New Perspectives collaborate with theatremaker Michael Pinchbeck to explore and expand this fascinating work against verbatim interviews with doctors today. Taking the pulse of the medical world then and now, this UK production is a poignant exploration of the future of the NHS as it reaches its 70th year. 'Michael Pinchbeck is a terrific theatre maker' (Guardian).
